 Golf Tours

Singapore and the surrounding region has some of the best courses in Asia - so if you're a golf nut, then it would be a shame to miss out...

GolfHub Tours & Travel

GolfHub Tours & Travel runs… golfing tours… around Singapore and all over Asia. While most of the prestigious courses in Singapore are for members only, GolfHub can get you on to most of them, including the Serapong and Tanjong courses on Sentosa. GolfHub can also arrange for your golfing holiday to nearby destinations like Indonesia and Malaysia as well as further afield to Thailand and China.

GolfHub pick you up from your hotel and deliver you to the course, and back again at the end of the day. Everything is included in the price from transfers to green fees and buggy hire. They even have an instructional golfing DVD for you to view on the way to the course in the mini-bus.

Tee time on Sentosa
Considering Singapore’s small size, it’s amazing that it sports a number of Asia’s best golf courses.

Among those, the Sentosa Golf Club is one of the best – if not the best – in Singapore. The club has two courses (Serapong and Tanjong), of which both are of championship standard. In fact, the Serapong course recently played host to the Singapore Open in 2005 (which is Asia’s richest National Open).

For the Jan/Feb/Mar 2006 issue, the staff of The Real Destination Singapore teamed up with GolfHub Tours & Travel to enjoy a peaceful round of the Serapong course. We say peaceful, because although the course is just minutes from the city, its location on Sentosa Island and the amazing design of the course has made it one of the most beautiful golf locations in Asia.

Serapong Course, Sentosa
Serapong is a par 72, 6349 metre course, opened in 1982 and redeveloped by Ronald Fream in 2001. Making full use of the incredible jungle surrounding the course and the dramatic city backdrop, the course winds its way around two massive lakes and the inner Singapore harbour. The real treat of this course awaits over the 13th, 14th and 15th holes. The signature 13th hole is up first. This is a beautiful, sweeping 498 metre (ladies 470 metre) par 5 that takes you around the side of the biggest lake on the course.

Next at 14 is a par 4, 381 metre (ladies 328) stretch to the pin. Waiting for you are two major spots to look out for. Firstly, there’s a huge 130 metre bunker lining the right hand side of the fairway. Then there’s the small matter of a magnificent view of the ports of Singapore and the dramatic Singapore skyline in the background behind the pin. The 15th leads you back along towards where you teed off for the 13th, along the waterfront, finishing with a narrow entry to the green.
