We recommend that you take one of three options when getting around Jakarta – Taxi, hire a driver or take a guided tour. By far these ways will give you the opportunity to enjoy the city without the hassles that come with public transport in a city like Jakarta.

Taxis
Taxis are plentiful in Jakarta, but it is important you take the right ones to avoid any problems. Blue Bird and Silver Bird are the two most reliable taxis to take. Even so, try to always take a taxi from a hotel entrance as they will keep a record of the taxi should you have any problems.

Hiring a driver
Ask the doorman at your hotel and he should be able to organise a driver for the day for you easily. One day should cost you around Rp350,000 as long as you stay within the city.

Taxi companies and rental car agencies can also organise drivers but the price will be a little higher.
