Real Hong Kong
In Kowloon...

Take an after dinner stroll to Shanghai Street (near Temple Street) for a little Hong Kong treat one night while you’re in Kowloon.

The Hui Lau Shan dessert restaurant is a taste of Hong Kong that the locals are particularly fond of. Desserts such as Honey Dew Sago, Watermelon Sago and Birds Nest Pudding will leave you refreshed and ready to tackle the nearby Temple Street for some night time shopping.

The restaurant’s desserts are mostly fruit based and it also serves a range of fresh fruit juices. This particular restaurant is just one of a chain all over the city catering to Hong Kong’s late night dessert cravings, but is our favourite because of its proximity to Temple Street.

Real Hong Kong...
On Hong Kong Island…

Try out Tsui Wah Restaurant on Wellington Street, Central for a real authentic Hong Kong dining experience. The menu is enormous, the restaurant always packed, and the atmosphere down-to-earth, but the experience is always bona fide Hong Kong!

This is the kind of place Hong Kong’s citizens go for a meal without the frills. Having said that though, it is clean, the service is good and the food excellent.

We recommend the Hainan Chicken Rice ($46), the Noodles with Prawn Balls and Roe ($32) or the Ham Macaroni in Soup ($26) for a great introduction to Hong Kong’s culinary delights. The Tsui Wah Restaurant has other outlets all over the city so you could ask your hotel concierge to find out where the nearest one is to you if you can’t get to Wellington Street.
